  • Track Laptime Record Eligibility

    4/10/2009

This motion was adopted at the 4/09/009 MC Board of Directors Meeting.

    4/09/2009

Proposed amendments to the MCSCC GCR, under “errors and omissions”.

    COMPETITION REGULATIONS
    5 Championship Points System
--6.7-- 5.7 Midwestern Council drivers running in Council sanctioned events are eligible for Council track record recognition. In order to receive track record status the driver must enter the event under his/her MC license

This rule is mis-numbered as printed in the 2009 GCR.

    HIGH SPEED AUTOCROSS SERIES
    9. Course Rules, Scoring, Trophies, Championship
9.5 Track Records Midwestern Council drivers running in Council sanctioned events are eligible for Council track record recognition.

At the October 2007 MC Board of Directors Meeting, the following motion was passed, and subsequently published in the November 2007 issue of the KLAXON:

Midwestern Council drivers running in Council sanctioned events are eligible for Council track record recognition. In order to receive track record status the driver must enter the event under his/her MC license.

In lieu of the non-published 2008 General Competition Rules, publishing this rule in the November 2007 KLAXON put the rule change in force for all MC competition events held during the course of the 2008 season, both Wheel-Wheel and High Speed Autocross.

The 2009 General Competition Rules includes addition of the track records eligibility rule for Wheel-Wheel competitors, but fails to amend the High Speed Autocross section. At the present time, per the 2009 GCR, a Wheel-Wheel competitor must be a member of MC to be eligible to establish a track record, but MC membership is not required for High Speed Autocross track record eligibility.

Adding HSAX Rule 9.5 clarifies that MC membership applies to both competition programs for track record eligibility.
